No pictures yet

I'm trying to post some pictures but for some reason I can't.  Perhaps the file is too big.  I'll keep trying.  Maybe next time.

The most recent highlight is that we found the really big grocery store by our house.  It's three stories and quite a bit cheaper than the previous store we had been going to.  We stocked up on goodies and comfort food.  Hot chocolate, popcorn, orion pies, and lime flavored potato chips.  Mmm.  The flavors of chips here are strange but good.  The other day we got cucumber flavor and I'm thinking next time I'll try the steak flavored.  We also bought some instant coffee but its really weak.  We had brought a pound of komodo dragon coffee from starbucks back home but it wasn't ground.  So today my mission was to find a coffee place or coffee grinder and get my coffee beans ground.  I had heard of a starbucks just one stop away on the subway so I thought I would try there first.  However, I had a foreign friend with me and she said she had heard of a whole coffee district. We set out to find it.  While riding the subway I noticed how popular we had become.  Men stood up and gave us their seats and others craned their necks to listen to our conversation.  I had no idea two giggling white girls was so interesting.  It took about 30 minutes or so to get to where we thought it was but we couldn't find it.  Then my friend had to leave to go to work.  So I headed back to my part of town with a bag of full bean coffee.  I knew it wouldn't do if I came home and Sam couldn't make himself a cup of strong coffee.  Now I'm proud to say I found the starbucks all by myself!  They looked at me a little weird but they ground the beans.  I also bought a cup of regular brewed coffee.  It cost 15rmb which equals about $2.25.  Ouch!  I like the McDonalds coffee.  Its only 6rmb.  That's a little under a dollar.  Totally worth that!  To be fair, the starbucks coffee was pretty good and they had all the usual condiments you could add to it.  So a dash of vanilla, little bit of cream and it was just to my liking.  To all of you back home with starbucks gold cards.....go have a latte and think of me.
